Over the last year the powers that be have been working hard to set up a new trust to manage the Computers in Homes programmes. The focus has been for a trust of local people all working towards a goal of minimising the digital divide which currently exists in parts of the Far North. The trust is made up of a selelction of people from all strands of the community with a focus on education. This goal was met in June 2008 in time to submit an Expression of Interest to the Dept. of Internal Affairs for funding via the Digital Strategy Funding. The original bid was for the delivery of 600 computers for families from 17 various schools.
