Computers in Homes Graduation
day has finally come around for 15 families that have been training through
Term 2 to complete 20 hours of training with their brilliant tutor Camella
Ortega. On the 11th of July
at 10 am Okaihau School hosted the event with special guest David Clendon, MP
from the Green Party. We were very lucky
to have him attend after a very long journey to get to us and a broken arm to
boot. We also had the Principal, Tim and
BOT and PTA members along to celebrate with us showing great support to those
families involved in the project.
We had very special
people presenting the certificates on this day, the tamariki of the parents
involved. It was great to see how proud
they were of their parents for taking on the challenge of learning how to use a
computer and coming back into the school.

the cake.
Thanks to Camella and
some staff from the school, there was an amazing spread of food for
everyone. Once Camella had cut the cake
and karakia was said we all dived into the kai.
The computers were ready and waiting for the graduates to take home and
there was great excitement in the group as we all started taking the equipment
away.
